Over the years people keep asking me what brand or what computer I would recommend buying, so I figured I would do a post about it. The main brands for computers have really taken a dive when it comes to quality. Those include Dell and HP. Asus wasn’t bad but as the brand gets more popular it seems like the quality of there hardware goes down.
The brand I am excited to talk to you about is MINISFORUM. I will start with the cheapest recommendation and then go up from there if you are wanting more speed and power.
I am going to keep this article simple and straight to the point. If you are wanting more detailed information/Specs visit the Amazon product link.

Recommended HDD drives to Buy
Seagate IronWolf Pro HDD

Storage Size: 4 TB
Enterprise NAS Internal HDD
Price: $129.66 each (X5 = $648.30)
Price Date: 11/8/25
I recommend buying 5 of these and running a RAID 5. Meaning your files are copied to multiple drives and you still have the speed of 5 drives. If a Hard Drive stops working in 10 years, RAID 5 allows for hot swapping out the bad drive with no lose of files.
I recommend buying HDD’s over M.2 SSD due to the cost of M.2 SSD. Plus buying HDD’s allows for hardware failure fixes in the future. If after you install this option and you find your copy speeds are too slow you can always add an M.2 SSD in the future.
This recommendation has a high up front cost of $1,700 but if you are paying $20 for two people a month for cloud storage it will be paid off in 3.5 years.
